This week's DAotW comes from the Wednesday, January 22nd edition of "The Price is Right".



This is Ronald. He won his way out of Contestants Row at the last minute and now he'll have a chance to win this!



Ooooh, it's groceries, movie tickets, and maid service for a year! Oh how I'd love to go grocery shopping and to the movies with Amber. And Amber in a maid outfit...

*Jim, get back to the stupid answers.  We haven't got all day, since there are others who need this space now.  It's not just you and me anymore.*

Oh yes, sorry about that. Thank you, Qsie. So, Ronald could win that prize package (lovely Amber not included) by playing...



Now I know what you're thinking. But trust me, this isn't going to be one of our typical Yodely Guy Suicides.

Let's see the items Ronald will be pricing.



From left to right we have a Doctor Who inspired ceramic tea set, a 72 ounce water filtration pitcher, and a countertop ice pop maker.



Let's start with the tea set.



Is he right?



Well, I'll be cow kicked, he's right! The Yodely Guy stays at the base of the mountain.



On to the water filtration pitcher.



Is he right?



Nope. In the words of Bob Warman from across the pond, "How wrong is he?"



Ooooh, 15 steps.



For you home players, there's your ARP.



Ronald must be within $10 of the actual price of this ice pop set to win. Keep in mind that the tea set costs $20 and the pitcher costs $45. So, naturally, Ronald says the pop set can't be worth more than...

Well, I think we all know what's coming next. Hey Yodely Guy! Do your impersonation of Mankind from King of the Ring 1998!

In an amazing turn of events which has NEVER happened in the history of the game, the last item was MORE expensive than the preceding item.

The preceding sentence was written solely to test your personal sarcasm detector.



Don't feel bad for Ronald, for he later became the luckiest man in the Bob Barker Studio that day.

First, he ended up winning the second Showcase Showdown by spinning a measly quarter to get into the Showcase round, beating his competition by a measly nickel.

And then, Ronald won his showcase which consisted of a game room, a trip to Los Angeles to hang with the Harlem Globetrotters and a new Kia Forte LX.

Admittedly, one might say Ronald's showcase win was also a slam dunk (See what I did there?) since his opponent bid $11,000 on a showcase that consisted of a trip to New Orleans, a trip to Morocco and a sailboat.

Nevertheless, Ronald won over $24,000 in prizes for the day. But for not knowing the basic mechanics of Cliff Hangers, Ronald also wins this week's "Dumb Answer of the Week".
