Dumb Answer of the Week
What Happens When You Speak Before You Think

December 12th - December 18th, 2010

*Seidelman Note:  Although this moment happened last week, this was too good to pass up.  So, It goes on the website under the Secily Rule, where if an answer is so bad and it happened on Friday, then it carries over to next week.  Anyways, I hope you enjoy the write-up.  And now, Jim Williams with our Dumb Answer of the Week.*

GSN's 1 vs. 100 makes yet another appearance in GSG's Dumb Answer of the Week. That's twice in less than a month.

Please say hello to our newest honoree in the 1 vs. 100 Hall of Shame.

Her name is Hannah Balliet. She's a mother of 2 young boys (ages 6 and 8) and works at a preschool where she chases after, in her words, "18 little monkeys".

After successfully answering her first question knocking off precisely 1 mob member and trusting the mob correctly on her second knocking out another 17 and netting herself $500, it's now...

Mmmmm, Carrie Ann with those curves and me with no brakes.

Ahem. Sorry, where was I? Yes, 1 vs. 82. Here's the question.

This should be up her alley since she's a preschool teacher.

No, she's not gesturing at the mob, she's telling Carrie Ann that she's wanting to make sure of herself by counting on her fingers.

She says she does know this rhyme and says...

"Oh my gosh, how embarrassing would it be for my little kids if I got this wrong."

Wait. Who invited Michael Cole to this page?

Anyway, then she uses deduces what the answer could be. Let's go to the audio tape.

So Hannah locks in C as her answer.

Usually after a lock in, you hear the audience applaud out of courtesy. Eerily enough, no applause was heard after she locked in.

And why would they applaud anyway? They know that the correct answer is really...

Yes. And to add insult to injury, Carrie Ann (the brain trust that she is) goes through the riddle with her. Say it with me, altogether now.

This little piggy went to market. That's 1.

This little piggy stayed home. That's 2.

"This little piggy had roast beef at Arby's."

That's 3 and a plug that I'm sure the folks at Arby's appreciate.

Well, at least Hannah wasn't alone. 22 mobsters also erred in answering the question. So that leaves the remaining 60 members of the mob to split the grand prize of...

Which means each person earns...

I think, Hannah said it best about her experience on 1 vs. 100.

"This little piggy is going home."
